Eat Pray Love

Its two thirty in the morning and I’m attempting to write to tell you about my experience of Eat Pray Love... This is, therefore, not a review of the movie... its a spontaneous and uninhibited documentation of the numerous thoughts and feeling, reflections and learnings that the movie, through the poignant journeys of Elizabeth, evoked and put together within me...

So here it is...

The world is a maze, an endless maze of variables which are put together by an eternal order of things. I mean ETERNAL. What else could life be? So this maze is already laid out by the time us mere mortals land here to play out our parts. We have our minor decision makings to do which may or may not significantly alter our own insignificant lives, but it will only make a small difference to the way the universe is! But if we find our places in the Grand Design, as I’d like to call it, you have…. Found your purpose in life J

Now a step further and deeper… The entire, let’s say, “software” behind the functioning of this maze is… Love. Yes, it is. Love. And taking this step more multi-dimensionally, its just love, pure love. Like fresh, pure, earth clay. Waiting to be moulded. The kind of love which if it finds its best expression and healthy medium, makes you… What Ketut in the movie says…”smile with your liver”….! It’s the kind of love that makes you live life with open arms. Come what may, you see it as meant to happen, part of the grand design… Just as you are. And play your part. Smiling with your liver throughout.

But most of us, however, are only mere mortals. We know the love of saints and gurus that saw no need of earthy fixation and reciprocation. But most of us, because we are mere mortals, are looking for our small piece of heaven- ONE person- who we will love and be loved by ‘perfectly’. He or she, usually of the opposite sex if we are straight, will give you the feeling of having found a missing piece … of your own being J and for all those who know or have known love, know and understand the feeling I’m talking about J for me, it’s the most magical feeling in the whole of your existence. And if you’ve known me for the past three years of more, you’ll know I’ve lived my entire life looking for that person J. And you wonder now, as you watch my life, through its transformations and the consequent changes it has mirrored in me and essentially to my soul, has she found her soulmate…? I’d like to believe I have. And each day, each moment I look for and live by clues that I believe, convey to me my purpose in the Grand Design. Elizabeth, Julia Roberts in the movie, does too J she lives through life looking for and living Love. Always on a continuous, stubborn knack to live life in its truth. And what might the truth about life be? It changes J and as much as we, lesser humans, would love to cling to the realm and security of what we know IS…Fuck!! Its ever changing! Love changes, relationships change, jobs change… A constant change of variables. And the trick, my fellow travelers in life is, to KNOW. Know each moment of your existence where you fit in, what is YOUR role. Now to KNOW this, you would have to first put GOD in what Anna (from Mr. God this is Anna) would call your ‘middle’… Which means you don’t live life like your’re in the driving seat of your life… But God is J …and surrender…
